Operational Start-Up & Scaling
Real Estate Management Firm
Project Focus Areas
- Context
A large pension fund made the decision to shift from being a passive real estate investor to being an active real estate investment, operations, and development company. To achieve this objective, the pension fund needed to set-up a new and separate operating company responsible for all aspects of real estate management (e.g. property management, development, asset management, etc.)
- Our Approach
- Supported the new company from 5 employees to quickly establish all aspects of an operating company including functions, processes, technologies and facilities.
- Provided leadership support on multiple special projects through the operational start-up (years 1-2) and then scaling for growth (years 3-6) of the company.
- Supported the set up of new functions (such as accounting), implemented necessary enterprise technologies, designed processes and controls, and integrated acquisitions.
- Outcome
The client is now a global real estate investment, operations, and development company with 1200 employees and assets under management of $60+ billion. Cascadia continues to support the client as it grows.
