Analytics & Simulation Modelling

A provincial emergency health services provider was challenged to keep up with the increasing demand for ambulance services. They required data analytics and modelling to justify a request for additional funding to meet new service needs.

• Modelled the increased demand and the required ambulance fleet expansion needed to meet service standards, including response times.
• Developed a discrete event simulation model to determine the ideal positioning of an expanded air ambulance fleet to best respond to critical incidents in remote areas of the province.
• Clearly communicated our findings in executive presentations which were used to support decision-making.

The models and analysis developed provided the provincial emergency health services leadership team with the justification they required to request additional funding.
